AkujinRuukasu's News

Hello everyone!

Long time no see!

Back in August, I found out that my Flash video, Stick Trouble in VG World, was taken down. However, that is not Newgrounds' fault.

I had a brief, meaningful conversation with Mr. Tom Fulp. He explained to me about music licensing agencies (ASCAP, BMI, etc. in the United States, JASRAC in Japan) forcing sites, including Newgrounds, to take down content containing copyrighted music and how the agencies exploit and screw over their signed artists. From what all information I gathered, this is only a taste of what toxic trade deals, like TPP, RCEP, ACTA 2, etc. will do to us if enacted. Many who knew of and opposed the SOPA and PIPA bills in America back in 2012 and ACTA know what this is about.

As such, I cannot reboot or revitalize the Stick Trouble series on Newgrounds at least. I sincerely apologize for those anticipating for the revitalization or reboot.

With all the unfair trade proposals, DMCA and ISDS shenanigans, and other "Copyright Nazism" (as I call it) in the United States and Japan, it gets harder to express ourselves with our creations, even if such creations were class projects, parodies, and other things off of which we do not intend to profit.

About the music "Copyright Nazism" in Japan, look up "JASRAC". One Anon, Chanology, has some things to say (in English) about JASRAC's practices regarding use of select copyrighted music.

One thing to note is that Newgrounds is a Team Internet member for net neutrality, which I also support and appreciate.

Thank you all for your understanding, and special thanks to Mr. Fulp! I hope things get better for all of us artists here in the NG community and elsewhere.

Take it easy!

Hey everyone,

I know it's been four years since I uploaded my first Flash movie. Too many things have been going on overtime. Right now, Adobe Flash doesn't want to work on my old laptop anymore. I also had been going through lots of college work and life changes. Now you know why I haven't been living up to my promise to release "Stick Trouble in VG World 2". Because of this, the project will have to be put to rest... at least for a while, so, again, I'm sorry for letting you down. I also won't be on Newgrounds for a while either; it's been fun though. Thank you for supporting me with the project anyway.

Until then, sayounara.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the long delay. It seems that some things that have been going on are keeping me from touching the sequel. I know I'm talking the talk, but it will eventually be made. Anyway, there will also be a game that I'm currently doing for a final. Hopefully, it'll be something to enjoy while waiting for the next installment. Thank you for your patience.

Yours truly,

Hey everyone,

Whew! It's been a long time since I posted anything here. Anyway, few weeks before this post, hearing the news about the disasters that occurred in Japan left me utterly shocked. Hopefully, everything will work out better.

For those who may be wondering, I am still alive, but the hiatus is still in effect. College has become quite hectic recently. I do, however, have another Flash video done, but it isn't uploaded yet. Also, it won't be on Newgrounds. Sorry, guys. Eventually, I'll get to continuing on the "Stick Trouble" sequel, so stay tuned! I'm sure even my girlfriend would be anticipating it! ^_^

Signing off,
AkujinRuukasu

Attention everyone,

Since my Internet connection isn't fit for being involved with Newgrounds, I may not be on NG until further notice. I may, however, occasionally visit. My summer's been very busy lately, so I can't really get to finish and upload the "Stick Trouble" sequel.

So for now, sayounara.

Hi everyone!

I have some news to share with you:

Movie Delays
Due to some unforeseen circumstances and busy schedules, the development of the "Stick Trouble in VG World" sequel has been delayed. It may be a while before Farza, Link901 (may or may not be a NG member), and I get to work on it. Since I have dial-up where I live, I won't be online very much. I apologize for the the inconvenience this may have caused.

Recently Fallen Metal Legends (RIP)
I am also saddened to hear that Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) and Slipknot's Paul Gray (1972-2010) have passed away this month. May the two rest in peace. \m/

Yours truly,

Hey everyone!

Just letting you know that the sequel to Stick Trouble in VG World will soon be started. I will also get some help from Farza and a local friend of mine. However, I'm not sure when the local friend will get his computer fixed or replaced soon though. We may start on the project in May. I can't promise that though. What I can promise, however, is that it will be better than the prequel.

Yours truly,

Today, I read the tragic news that Florian Hufsky (aka oneup) of 72dpiarmy has passed away on December 16, 2009. Hufsky was the founder of 72dpiarmy as well as the creator of Super Mario War (not on Newgrounds). Not only was he so, but he was also a friend to all the crew of 72dpiarmy, which I happen to be a part of. Florian Hufsky will sadly be missed, and may he rest in peace.

Hello everyone,

This will be the first time I ever upload my Flash movie. It was originally created as a college class midterm project. After some touch-ups and adding stuff, the movie will be up. Because it was a requirement for a midterm, the movie had to play at 12 fps. Some of the inspiration came from noogai, the creator of the "Animator vs. Animation" series. Hope you'll enjoy it when it comes out!
